International collaboration and working is an important to ensure that we bring new ideas and influences into the work we do in Scotland, and to play an active role in the service design community.
We have been invited speak at the last two Service Design Global Conferences – in Amsterdam and Madrid – and in October 2018 will be part of the expert line-up at Service Design Days in Barcelona, where we will deliver a Service Design Walkabout Masterclass. We were also invited to deliver two presentations at each of the last two Service Design in Government conferences.
Open Change has developed a productive collaboration with Athens-based Design4Future, facilitating two workshops there during 2017 and 2018. This led to working with the senior team at the National Library of Greece, developing ideas about engaging citizens with their archive.
Through Global Jam events, we have connected with over 200 participating cities, and we experienced the role of headquarters at Global GovJam 2018 in Dundee, coordinating all 30+ locations.
“Showing people successful case studies of applying service design in the public sector, even from a different country and context, is very inspiring for them. Τhey really enjoyed the experience. Design4Future also learned so much in terms of ideas and methods we can embed in the way we do things. So thank you!”
